Inflammation is the precursor to almost every health challenge we may encounter in our lifetime. Here you’ll learn the effects of CBD on inflammation along with how to combat many of the leading mortalities related to chronic, low-level inflammation. With that said, I’m going to let you in on some vital information. Information you’re not going to be taught by your traditional healthcare provider. Which may unlock the answer to your health challenges.

You will now walk with confidence in managing both acute and chronic inflammatory issues arising from joint pain to irritable bowels to blood sugar issues. Simply by incorporating an effective daily CBD regimen. CBD has been shown to be beneficial via several different mechanisms originating from hemp. Which is backed by the research I’ve viewed and provided for you below.

CBD Research

Researchers are beginning to examine the potential of using CBD as a safer treatment alternative for inflammatory pain as studies have found CBD to effectively reduce inflammatory pain and could work as a safer choice to NSAIDs. Even demonstrating to be more powerful than many of the commonly recommend natural remedies for inflammation, such as curcumin, fish oil, resveratrol, antioxidants, proteolytic enzymes, and Vitamin C.

For example, cytokines are the signaling proteins synthesized and secreted by immune cells when stimulated. They are the modulating factors that balance initiation and resolution of inflammation. One of the mechanisms of immune system control by CBD during inflammation is stopping cytokine production by immune cells and lowering cytokine production by the T-helper cells Th1 and Th2. Overactivity of the cytokines can contribute to autoimmune issues and food intolerances. The inflammatory compound interleukin-6 (IL-6) can also be decreased in the presence of CBD.

Effects of CBD on the Gut

In one major study, researchers tested the effect of CBD on three cell signaling molecules associated with intestinal inflammation and oxidative damage to the gut. Their findings were as follows:

  1. Inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) – CBD has been shown to reduce the over-expression of iNOS in response to colitis. iNOS over-expression is well correlated with disease activity with colitis. Inhibitors of iNOS lead to improvement in experimental models of irritable bowel disease (IBD). iNOS results in high-output production of NO resulting in oxidative damage to the intestine via reactive oxygen species (ROS).
  2. Interleukin-1β – levels significantly increased with experimental colitis. CBD was shown to decrease levels. IL-1β is shown to have potent pro-inflammatory activity and thus heightens the inflammatory response that leads to intestinal injury. IL-1β amplifies the production of inflammatory leukocytes (immune system cells), resulting in an increase of inflammation.
  3. Interleukin-10 – levels significantly decreased with experimental colitis. CBD was shown to restore levels of the beneficial IL-10 which has anti-inflammatory activity. Inhibiting the release of pro-inflammatory cytokines restoration of IL-10 activity is critical to intestinal health.

The reduction of iNOS, lipid peroxidation and reactive oxygen species by CBD shows the important therapeutic action of CBD.  This is accomplished by indirect reduction of oxidative damage. In addition, the disregulation of the interleukins IL-1B and IL-10 may lead to IBD. This restoring of interleukins is another important therapeutic action by CBD in reducing inflammatory colon conditions.

Intestinal Inflammation

More than 25 million people struggle with inflammation of the gut. Conditions such as sensitive gut, irritable bowel syndrome, bloating, gas, constipation. CBD’s anti-inflammatory effects it could be a game-changer for these people who are suffering from inflammatory conditions of all kinds.

CBD has a variety of other natural anti-inflammatory effects. Below are some of the studies that have been done on CBD and is effect upon inflammation:

How far reaching the use of CBD has become, is evident with professional athletes from the NFL to the NHL and even MMA fighters who not only use but advocate for it therapeutic effects. Many have chosen this natural alternative to the highly overprescribed, addictive and damaging opioid and anti-inflammatory drugs. For the purpose of staying in the game to surviving in a post career world filled with pain and inflammation.

Athletes of All Abilities are Turning to CBD

These benefits are not only limited to professional athletes, as a growing number of amateur and recreational athletes are also experiencing CBD’s amazing ability to shut down the extreme amount of joint inflammation and pain. Many athletes are discovering CBD’s ability to assist with inflammatory and painful issues from physical trauma. But are also realizing its ability to assist the body to relax and sleep better at night. Many NFL athletes are now experimenting with cannabis extracts, primarily CBD to manage post-head injury symptoms. Not to mention the reduction in chronic post-career aches and pains.

Most athletes would leap at the chance to use an all natural analgesic, anti-inflammatory, anti-anxiety and sleep effects from CBD. Especially if they didn’t have to worry about addiction or THC testing by their sport’s federation. That’s where understanding what is in your CBD is critical to know and understand its bioavailability and THC content.

There are 3 primary types of CBD on the market with the Full-Spectrum containing all of hemp’s cannabinoids including terpenes and the psychotropic THC. If you don’t have a concern of testing positive for THC this will provide the greatest entourage effect of all ingredients. Now if you are looking for the most efficient entourage effect without the THC then the Broad-Spectrum would be your choice. But if you are not interested in the synergistic effect of all the cannabinoids working together and want just CBD than you may want to choose the CBD Isolate which contains only CBD alone.

Types of CBD Administration

As far as how long does it take for CBD to work in order to see measurable changes, this will depend on the method of delivery you choose for your CBD. To list some of the most common of administration, we have tinctures, capsules, nasal sprays, transdermal and topical applications with each having differing absorption rates and duration of effect. In my opinion I feel the tincture is the most beneficial as it’s absorbed both sublingually as well as thru the digestive system.

Hopefully this helps you to remain informed as to how CBD effects inflammation as well as pain since many musculo-skeletal conditions that involve inflammation also are accompanied by pain. Keep in mind that many other conditions aside from muscular inflammation, that originate from inflammation, may greatly benefit from the use of CBD. Keep in mind, there are alternatives to treating inflammation and pain without the side effects…Check out CBD, it may just be that relief that you’ve been looking for!
